The relatively mild winter weather means lots of us are still planting bare root fruit trees. The great thing about bare root fruit is that you get more tree for your money and a better choice than the usual offering of potted trees. We have a fantastic range of both popular and heritage varieties of apple, and a whole bunch of soft fruit ready for planting right now. Just make sure the soil isn’t waterlogged or frozen and your new plants will romp away next spring – and according to the calendar that’s only a few weeks away!
But not even the keenest of veg growers can plant in the dark, so with the long evenings and nights we’ve made sure all the seed lists are up to date so you have the best choice possible. Of course this is the part where we usually recommend our favourites – but everyone here at veggrower.co.uk has their opinion!! So it’s best to have a leisurely browse and get ordering to avoid any disappointment (but while no one else is looking, cauliflower 'Sicilian Violet' does sound fantastic. It’s a regional cauli from Sicily, deep mauve in colour which turns green when cooked. How good does that sound? Click here for details.)
We’ve also updated all the pots, planters, bits and bobs, and the 26 litre Flexi Tubs at £7.99 look a great deal. They are perfect (actually invaluable) for carting stuff around the veg plot. And there’s a choice of colours. Click here for details.
But we’re not just about getting you great bargains, top buys and offering the best choice in all things veg growing – you’ve find the place for top growing guides, tips on how to get the best from your plot no matter how large or small it is, and advice on all aspects of veg growing.
If you're looking for inspiration on what to sow during the next few months, our VegGrowing Diary lists all the different vegetable varieties you can grow from seed at this time of year. It’s a great starting place to a fantastic year of veg growing.
And if you do fancy something you see – seeds, plants, planters, cold frames, cloches, fertilisers or anything else we offer - don’t forget, we still offer free delivery on all orders over £50.
