Raised Vegetable Bed

We hope that when people think about growing their own vegetables they think about our website. Growing your own vegetables can be very rewarding and creating your own veggie garden is something that once you start, you will wonder how you ever lived without. If you can get yourself an allotment then great, but you will be surprised how far a simple balcony can go in terms of growing vegetables. We have aimed to cater to both those that have been growing vegetables for many years and those that are giving serious consideration to starting up their own garden, and to this end we have tried to have everything you could possibly want to grow your own fruit and vegetables with success. Our family history in both wholesale fruit and veg and horticulture goes back the past century, and our busy garden centre in the countryside of north Nottinghamshire is where we run our online business from. Our team is made up of some very knowledgeable people including those that have their own allotments and an ex market gardener, so you can be confident that when it comes to fruit and veg we have all angles covered.

Vegetable Raised Bed

We are able to offer a comprehensive range of products that are aimed at helping you grow fruit and veg successfully at highly competitive prices, as we have longstanding relationships with both major and minor suppliers to the horticultural trade. There are plenty of different ways that you can set up a vegetable garden, but if you are new to the experience then we would recommend creating a patio allotment, which can be made up using vegetable, patio and tomato planters or even raised beds. In terms of the latter we can offer customers both wooden raised bed vegetables as well as plastic varieties. We are well aware that there is quite a lot to consider and be aware of when you first start to grow your own vegetables and fruit, which is why we have guides that are packed with an array of hints and tips to help people get started. After a few weeks tending to your garden and as you start to see the fruits of your labour come into being, we are confident that you will be hooked for life. So don’t delay any further and start working on a vegetable garden today.

Enjoy the Fruits of your Labour

We are very proud of our vegetable seeds and have a serious assortment for visitors to the website to check out. We have categorised them into headings such as fruit, herbs, lettuce & salad, mammoth & exhibition, and grouped them alphabetically so that you can find what you’re looking for with ease. Grow your own kits are essential if you want to get off on the right foot plus they make the initial stages so much easier. The majority of the kits we have for sale on the site come complete with everything you’ll need to get under way such as raised beds for vegetables, and you can choose from windowsill to patio planter kits. So whether you are fortunate enough to have a decent space outdoors or live in an apartment block and only have a small balcony to utilise you can get started without any problems. Over time, the price of fruit and vegetables is sure to go up, and so it makes sense to start learning the skills and to get the right equipment to start growing them yourself sooner rather than later. Plus you can enjoy eating fruits and veg knowing they were grown organically.

Produce to be Proud Of

For first time growers of veggies and fruit the ideal beds are potato, veg and raised vegetables. This is because whether you want to grow crops on a balcony, on a patio, or if you simply have no more space in the garden, they are perfectly suitable. By growing vegetables in planters you can control both the soil and growing environment more easily, which will invariably result in better looking and tasting produce. In some cases you will simply want certain crops, such as tomatoes or salad leaves, close to your kitchen for cooking purposes. So having vegetables in raised beds located near to where you prepare meals, even if you already have a traditional vegetable plot, is well worth considering. We’ve all experienced not having a certain product or ingredient to hand in the middle of preparing dinner and by creating your own little vegetable plot on your kitchen’s windowsill or in close proximity to it, will help minimise this happening. We are confident that you will be able to find the seeds for whatever it is you want to grow, but if there is something special you cannot track down please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Easy and Fun

Although a vegetable garden is a beautiful thing in its own right, you can complement it wonderfully with a fruit garden. One of the easiest and most fun fruits to grow is strawberries, plus if you have a planter or hanging baskets they are ideal. Home grown raspberries make for a delicious and simple alternative, whilst blueberries have the added advantage of providing decorative spring flowers and a stunning colour during the autumn months. However, if you are keen to start slowly and only want to concentrate on a single crop, then potatoes are the way to go. Raised bed vegetable gardens are ideal for this particular produce, which are easy to grow and surprisingly rewarding. In fact they are so easy to grow that you won’t even need a garden, and if you are short of space then all you have to get is a potato planter. There are two sizes of bags to choose from: the taster packs for those that are using planters or if you simply want to have a go at growing different varieties; and two and a half kilos bags that will provide a great crop size for each variety.

Keep things Simple

For many home grown vegetable enthusiasts, success comes about after some good old fashioned trial and error over a period of years. Our vast experience has enabled us to create vegetable growing guides in which the most obvious pitfalls are highlighted and that are aimed at helping you get started. Of course we don’t claim to have complete knowledge about the subject and are more than happy to receive any hints and tips people may have about growing veggies and fruit, which we can then pass onto the vegetable growing community. Beginners may not be aware that a vegetable raised bed is not only relatively inexpensive to buy, but they take just a few minutes to put together and can be the ideal growing conditions for a range of seeds and plants once it has been filled with a decent mixture of compost and topsoil. You should take things slowly and not try and grow too many vegetables at the same time. There is work that needs to be done in your first year of growing and so as long as you keep things simple, you will be able to increase the size of your garden over time.
